Rupert Bentley ASIP
Chairman
Rupert started his investment career in 1993 with the Guinness Mahon Group, becoming an investment manager with Guinness Flight. In 1997 he joined the Board of Bentley Capital, becoming Chief Executive of Bentley Reid in 2007. From 2008 to 2011, when Butterfield owned Bentley Reid, Rupert was Head of Asset Management at Butterfield Private Bank. He resigned that position in 2011 to re-establish Bentley Reid as an independent entity, assuming his former role as Chief Executive before being appointed Chairman in 2019. Rupert has an honours degree in Economics from Durham University and is an Associate of the CFA Society of the UK.
Mandy Black
Office Manager
Mandy has over 30 years’ experience in Administration and Office Support. Mandy joined the Bentley Reid in 1986, as Team Secretary and then re-joined in 2012 as Office Manager following the de-merger from Butterfield Bank in 2012.
Peter Clark CFA
Group Chief Executive Officer
Peter joined Bentley Reid as an investment analyst in 2006 from an international trade finance bank in the City of London. He moved to Butterfield Private Bank as part of the Group’s acquisition in 2008 before re-joining Bentley Reid in 2012 as a Director and head of the investment team. Peter has been the Chief Investment Officer since 2018 and assumed the role of Group CEO in January 2023. Peter is a CFA Charterholder and has a first class honours degree in Economics from the University of Wales, Cardiff.
Jonathan Grigg
Head Of Operations
Jonathan began his career with a US software company, then moved into financial consulting with Accenture, before spending eleven years with a fixed income fund where he obtained the role of COO. He has strong knowledge in fund operations, system implementation and regulatory compliance, and now leads the operational infrastructure within Bentley Reid.
Jonathan joined Bentley Reid in December 2017 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland.
George Holmes FCSI
Client Director
George has over 15 years experience in Private Banking and Wealth Management. He was previously the head of the Family Office at Butterfield before joining Bentley Reid in February 2014. He is responsible for advising a diverse portfolio of international clients. George is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, a Chartered Wealth Manager and on the board of the London business.
Andy Hurst BA (HONS) DIP PFS, CERT CII (MP)

Andy has over 25 years experience in financial services, starting his career with an IFA followed by seven years with Lloyds Bank Insurance Services working on corporate and personal advice. Andy joined Bentley Reid in 1997, managing the affairs of expatriate clients returning to the UK as well as UK resident families. Andy re-joined Bentley Reid in 2012 as a Client Director following the de-merger from Butterfield Bank in 2012. Andy is a Director of the London business and he holds the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate (Dip PFS) and the Certificate in Mortgage Advice. He is a member of the Personal Finance Society and the Society of Mortgage professionals.
Harry Rogers CFA
Investment Manager
Harry started his investment career at Coutts in 2008 as part of Coutts’ Wealth Management graduate scheme. He joined Bentley Reid as an Investment Manager in 2012. Harry is a CFA Charterholder and has a First Class Masters in Astrophysics from University College London.
Richard Swain CFA
Head of Funds Research
Richard began his investment career in 1998 at Schroders. He joined M&G Investments in 2000 where he spent seven years in Product Development and Fund Research. In 2007 he moved to the private office of Lord North Street Ltd where he was Head of Fund Research. He joined Bentley Reid in May 2012. Richard has a degree in English Language & Literature from Liverpool University and is a CFA Charterholder.
Mike Winstanley APFS, MBA
Client Director
Mike has over 10 years’ experience in Financial Services and Wealth Management. He was previously a wealth manager at boutique advisory firms across London and helps clients create effective, long-term and tax-efficient investment strategies.
Mike is a Chartered Financial Planner and PFS member.
Michelle Clarke
Chief of Staff
Michelle spent 17 years as an investment banker at Rothschild & Co (joining the graduate programme, she started in the Debt team, moved into M&A and then latterly into operations, where she was joint COO of ABN Amro Rothschild and Business Unit Director). Following a career break she was Head of PR & Marketing for M7 Real Estate, joining Bentley Reid as Chief of Staff in 2022.
Michelle has a first class honours degree in Chemistry from the University of Bristol.
Colin Hamilton
Systems & Database Developer
Colin has over five years’ experience in IT. He was previously a developer at a law firm which specialised in designs, patents and trademarks, working within the Applications and Integrations team in London.
Colin joined Bentley Reid in November 2021 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Hertfordshire.
Areeb Bhatti

Areeb graduated from Swansea University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance. He previously worked at Bank of New York Mellon in the trade processing team and joined Bentley Reid in 2021 as part of the Operations Team.

Assistant Wealth Manager
Amy began her career working for a global investment company in 2017. She joined Bentley Reid as Assistant Wealth Manager in 2022 and has a degree in Mathematics from the University of Manchester.

Nic Bentley FCA, TEP
Founder & Chairman Emeritus
Nic Bentley, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, founded Bentley Reid in 1979.
He has advised clients internationally on their tax affairs and financial planning for over 40 years. During his career, he established and managed trust companies in Jersey, Malta, Hong Kong and Switzerland, and investment management companies in the UK, Jersey and Hong Kong. Nic stepped back from executive duties in May 2019, assuming the role of Chairman Emeritus and adviser to the Board.
Jack Chin
Senior IT Manager
Jack joined Bentley Reid in 1990. With his intimate knowledge of information technology he took charge of the implementation and maintenance of the technical aspects of the company’s operation. He now holds the position of Senior IT Manager.
Jeanette Chiu CPA, CPA(AUST.), ACCA
Director
Jeanette has over 10 years experience in corporate accounting services in KPMG Hong Kong and KCS Ltd and joined the Bentley Reid in 2004. She became a Director of Bentley Trust in 2006 and joined the HK Board in 2011. Jeanette is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and Certified Public Accountants in Australia.
Philip Crinion FCA, CTA
Managing Director
Philip began his career with KPMG where he worked for seven years within an international tax division specialising in the taxation of international executives and high net worth individuals. Philip joined Bentley Reid in 2012 as the Tax and Financial Advice Director, based in Hong Kong. He became a Director of the Hong Kong businesses in 2014 and Managing Director in 2017. Philip holds a Business and Finance degree from Trinity College Dublin and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Certified Tax Consultant.

Vivian has over 15 years’ experience in company secretarial services industry and joined Bentley Reid in 2017. Vivian is a Fellow Member of The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries.
Anna Warren
Tax Director
Anna began her career at KPMG where she worked for nearly 11 years, 8 of which were spent in the private client tax team in London advising HNW/UHNW individuals, trustees, and family offices on tax and estate planning. Anna then joined a large London estate family office advising on inter-generational structural planning.
Anna moved to Hong Kong in 2019 and joined Bentley Reid in October 2019 where she focuses on advising clients on tax efficient structuring.
Anna is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales and a Chartered Tax Adviser.

Malcolm Becker FCMA, TEP, BID
Chief Executive, Bentley Trust
Malcolm Becker is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, with 8 years in UK industry and then over 30 years of experience in the International Financial Services Industry. He has been a member of STEP since 1996; also he was Founder and Former Chairman of STEP (Malta). Malcolm has been CEO of Bentley Trust since 2003 and is Chairman of the Bentley Trust Group. Prior to that, he was Managing Director of trust companies in the BVI and Luxembourg and a business partner of an international law firm. He was President of the BVI Association of Registered Agents.
Emily Burgess TEP
Trust Manager
Emily joined Bentley Trust in August 2017 and has over 15 years’ experience in the fiduciary services industry and financial operations having worked in Dubai, Istanbul and Chicago. Emily is a STEP member and has recently completed her MBA, specializing in compliance and the prevention of money laundering.
Shirley Calleja TEP
Trust Executive
Shirley Calleja has been with Bentley Trust since the company continued its operation to Malta in 2003. Shirley is a STEP member, and has over 18 years’ experience in the finance industry. She spent three years with Colonial First State in Sydney, Australia where she worked as a Team Coach in the Unit Trust Department and also studied Unit Trust Administration with the Securities Institute of Australia during her time in Australia.
Ann Marie Griscti
Trust Executive
Ann Marie Griscti has 12 years’ experience in the Trustee & Corporate Services industry. She began her Trustee practice when Bentley Trust continued its operation to Malta in February 2003, beginning as a Trust Administrator and later promoted to Trust Executive working for the Company for a total period of 8 years. The next 8 years were spent with two organisations in Malta, the latter being in Financial Services. Ann recently re-joined the Company back to her original role as Trust Executive, after working with a Maltese Corporate Service Provider for the past 4 years, as a Client Manager.
Lucienne Meilak
Trust Executive
Lucienne has been with Bentley Trust since March 2005 shortly after completing her studies. Lucienne joined the company as a Trust Administrator and was promoted to the position of Trust Executive in June 2007. Lucienne has a Bachelor of Commerce honours degree in Management from the University of Malta and over 13 years of experience in the finance industry.
Eugene Warrington FIA, CPA, TEP

Eugene Warrington has been Chief Financial Officer with Bentley Trust (Malta) Limited since the Company continued its operation to Malta in February 2003. Eugene is a Certified Public Accountant and a STEP member, and has over 35 years experience working in finance within various industries, including three years with an international audit firm. Eugene has been working in financial services for more than 15 years; initially with an international bank based in Malta and subsequently with Bentley Trust.
Independent Investment Advisory Committe
The independent Investment Advisory Committee (IAC) meets once a month to debate the issues that inform our investment outlook. The IAC has two regular members, John Gent and Trevor Neil; these experienced professionals are complemented by other specialists, depending on the important issues of the day.
John Gent
John is a Cambridge economics graduate who has worked in financial services since 1979. After a decade in capital markets and trading with Orion Royal Bank and Kleinwort Benson, he entered J.P Morgan private banking, initially in Geneva from where he inherited and led the development of the Self-Directed Investors International Advisory service with teams across Europe and Hong Kong. In 1997, John moved to New York to set up J.P. Morgan’s international Alternative products Development, launching the firm’s first fund of hedge funds, and creating the strategic asset allocation service. Upon moving back to London in January 1999, he designed the European private banking platform and became the first Chief Executive of JP Morgan International Bank Ltd, an entity dedicated to private clients outside the USA and Switzerland.
In 2001 John co-founded Lord North Street Ltd, one of London’s pre-eminent investment offices for ultra-high net worth families, and was a director until 2009. John is now an independent consultant; has gained a Masters in Economic History with Distinction at the London School of Economics and is currently an LSE doctoral researcher in monetary history.
Trevor Neil
Trevor is an expert in Technical Analysis. Trevor has more than 40 years’ experience as a market professional. His first job from school in 1976 was as a commodities floor trader for Merrill Lynch. When LIFFE opened, he moved into financial futures and has traded most assets in the years since. He became a derivatives fund manager while at Union Cal. He worked for a short period in the Bund pit on LIFFE.
Trevor became interested in charting and technical analysis early in his career. He was a founding board member of The Society of Technical Analysts, the professional body for technicians in the UK. During his nearly ten years as a board member, they created the professional qualification CFTe for market technicians. This exam is now a global franchise and recognised internationally. He was awarded MSTA in 1992. In 1999 he became Global Head of Technical Analysis at Bloomberg. After four years he left to form a hedge fund and moved to Cape Town. He sold his interest in the fund in 2006 and started his own small fund and BETA Group. He operates this private fund today using an algorithm of his own design.
At BETA Group he works with industry professional providing consultancy, analysis and teaching the practical application of timing skills in wealth management, treasury, hedging and research. Trevor is an Accredited Training Provider for the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment which awarded him MCSI. He is a director of RRG Research BV, the research company behind Relative Rotation GraphsTM RRG which is licenced to Bloomberg, Eikon and other professional platforms. RRGs are used by analysts and portfolio managers to visualise complex price relationships in one clear graph.
